So, this is the beginning of our blog! We'll be writing on here every now and again over the course of the next year because this next year is going to be a bit different.
Liz and I are quitting our teaching jobs in London and going to Africa for 8 months.
We'll be working in a small rural village two hours north of Accra, Ghana, for 6 months and then travelling around Southern Africa for 2 months. We'll be working with this charity: http://villagebyvillage.org.uk/. Very excited but:
- definitely sad to be leaving our jobs, especially as we wont see our year 12 students through to year 13. We'll miss them loads.
- we still haven't had our yellow fever inoculation
- the heat wave in the UK was too much - especially last Wednesday (36 degrees in London!)... acclimatising to the heat in Ghana will take time.
- Visa. Must send off visa application today.
Below are some photos from the charity to give us an idea about the area we'll be staying in. Martin
Our house. Deluxe with all the mod cons. We actually have electricity!
