We have arrived :)

Me mo wa aha (Good afternoon in Twi) It was a long journey to get here but worth it :) We spent yesterday relaxing in our hotel, here is the view from our balcony:

We went for a wander into the local village and played a bit of pool. Shock horror - Martin won both games. I blame the table :)

Beautiful food. I gave fufu another go :) The goat curry was so nice and hot. Yam chips were alright. The waitress Winifred was impressed with my Twi :)

Today we have ventured into Accra. Our taxi man Eric is teaching us even more Twi - I now have my numbers 1-10 down. We went on a walking talk around Nima, a very poor district of Accra. It was very eye opening. Our tour guide Charles knew his history so well. He took us to a local primary school - they were very cute and spoke better French than me. (They are an international school and have students from the neighbouring countries, such as Togo, Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast, that speak French).

Martin was happy when we found a super market. Not so far from luxuries at the moment.
Two more days in this part and then we meet up with other volunteers at a home stay then off to Abenta. We are both loving every second. The local people are as friendly as our friends said. Thank you for reading. Me da se Liz (and Martin) x
